Abstract: This paper presents the field measurements of Cements block industries in Iwaro, Akungba- Akoko, Ondo State, Nigeria with the minimum noise emitted by those machines. The locally developed sound level meter equipment, measured the noise level generated by the machine vibrators and compressors. The test method requires an acoustic environment which is only obtained in an extensive open space. The results obtained by this method gave an objective measure of the noise emitted under the specified conditions of test. This research provided an engineering method to access the performance of external sound generation systems, intended for the purpose of providing acoustic information to pedestrians on a cement block making machines operating condition. This investigation is reported as objective criteria related to the external sound generation system’s sound pressure level, frequency content and changes in sound pressure level, and frequency content as a function of the cement block making machine vibration and speed. These measures further provided pedestrians with information on the location of the machine, speed, vibration, compressor behavior and the year of usage of a machine.
