Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement

Scientific Research Journal (SciRJ) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. We follow the Core Practices set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the act of publishing (authors, editors, and reviewers) must agree upon standards of ethical behavior.

1. Duties of Editors

  • Publication Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal should be published based on scientific merit and relevance.
  • Fair Play: Manuscripts are evaluated without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
  • Confidentiality: Editors must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and the publisher.

2. Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers assist the editorial board in making decisions and help authors improve their papers.

  • Promptness: Any selected referee who feels unqualified or cannot provide a timely review should notify the editor and excuse themselves.
  • Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive or collaborative relationships.

3. Duties of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure they have written entirely original works. Plagiarism in all its forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
  • Multiple Publication: Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal.
  • Authorship of the Paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the study.

4. Handling Research Misconduct

In cases of suspected or proven scientific misconduct, fraudulent publication, or plagiarism, the publisher, in close collaboration with the editors, will take all appropriate measures to clarify the situation and to amend the article in question. This includes:

  • Prompt publication of an erratum or expression of concern.
  • Formal retraction of the paper if fundamental errors or misconduct are found.
  • Notification to the author's institution or funding body in severe cases.

5. Editorial Independence

SciRJ maintains strict editorial independence. Revenue sources (such as Article Processing Charges) do not influence the editorial decision-making process. Our editors have full authority over the journal's content.

These guidelines are based on the COPE Core Practices. For more information, visit publicationethics.org
