Scirj Volume VII, Issue I, January 2019 Edition ISSN: 2201-2796 Ely Steven Ingratubun, Muhammad Yusri Zamhuri, Paulus Uppun, Rein Joseph Wekan, Theo Julius Rahajaan Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of economic growth, both directly and indirectly on poverty in Eastern Indonesia. This study uses Simultaneous Equation Model (SEM) to regression the causal relationship between economic growth and poverty by using secondary data and data panels in 2008 to 2017. The findings of the research study show that: (1) economic growth experiences an increase or decrease in the push for economic inputs, both directly and indirectly, significantly negative / positive effect on poverty; (2) poverty has decreased or increased depending on economic indicators both directly and indirectly significantly influencing positive / negative.
