The Integration of Artificial Intelligence in the Indonesian Healthcare System

Authors: Jacob B.

Abstract: Indonesia is currently at a critical juncture in its digital health transformation, aiming to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address systemic healthcare challenges. As of early 2026, the nation has shifted from experimental pilots to strategic implementation, guided by the "Golden Indonesia 2045" vision. This paper examines the current state of AI adoption in Indonesian healthcare, focusing on diagnostic accuracy, telemedicine, and the evolving regulatory framework. It identifies key barriers—specifically the urban-rural digital divide and fragmented data systems—and discusses the implications of the upcoming 2026 National AI Roadmap.
