The Study of Improving the Quality of Education in the Perspective of Regional Autonomy (The Analysis of Principal Strategic Role)
Dr. Budiharjo Abstract: The school principal has a strategic role in improving the quality of education in the era of regional autonomy. The development of work ethic, the establishment of harmonious cooperation, and the improvement of the quality of teachers and school staffs are determined to a great deal by the quality of school leadership. Therefore, the recruitment of school principal should be carried out in a professional way, not political interest. Education always overlaps with the powers, including the appointment of school principal, which cannot be separated from political interest of a regional leader. However, both school principals and educators should be free from the influence of local authorities in order not to be dragged into irrelevant matters to their core business.
