Scirj Volume VI, Issue IV, April 2018 Edition ISSN: 2201-2796 Non-Parametric Test for Detection Trend in Crude Palm Oil Price Azme Khamis & Che Azmeeza Che Hamat Abstract: This study was carried out to detect the trends of crude palm oil price (CPO) using non-parametric statistical test. There are three statistical tests that will conduct in this study, which are the Wilcoxon Rank Sum test, Mann Kendall trend test and Sen’s Slope Estimator test. These three methods are used to achieve the objectives which are to determine whether there is a significance difference in CPO prices at the time, ti and ti+1 starting from 2000 until 2014 using the Wilcoxon rank sum test, to figure out the trend of CPO prices using Mann-Kendall trend test and to identify the monthly price trends of CPO prices from 2000 until 2014 respectively using a Sen’s slope estimator test. The data used for this study are monthly data on CPO prices from 2000 until 2014. The findings showed that, there is a trend for all year comparison prices using Mann Kendall trend test except for 2000-2001 and 2013-2014. For a Sen’s slope estimate test, Qmed are positive value for every month and showed the upwards trend.
